New Restaraunt in Town.

The old Mexican Restaurant has a new owner and will apparently be changing it into an Italian Joint.

A few questions.

1) Can or will Evansville really support another restaurant?

2) Do we really need another "Italian" restaurant in town?

3) What kind of eatery do you think Evansville want's or need's?

I will have a breakdown of our current eating establishments in a later post.

I think as long as the food is decent it wil be nice. I think the deli in town is way over priced., plus she changes hours and available foods way to often. Its only average at best .

I personally think the deli is nasty. I gave it several chances and it blows. I will welcome a new restaurant with fresh food.

But we already have Romanos!

I want Taco Bell!!!!

Good luck to them with the construction. Yikes, talk about bad timing. Hope they got the lease for free.

I think there is room for an Italian joint in Evansville that knows how to make a pizza. Romano's and Spinners have average to below average pizza at best.

I hate spinners -- you can see they add eggs to the cheese to stretch it. Uck.

I love the deli. Sandwiches are great and ingrediants are fresh. There sure are a lot of picky people around here.

As for a new restaurant in town, good frickin luck. With the finicky people around here who refuse to support restaurants and eataries we already have, well like I said good luck.

If a restaurant did a marketability study before doing anything else with this town that business would sprint away from this community. Too bad.

People aren't picky around here to anony no. 6. I agree the deli is yucky. The food is not fresh. It sits in the cases until it expires its shelf life, thats not fresh. Fresh is when something is made daily. Her prices are outrageous.

I will miss the mexican rest. They are very nice people who worked hard. They had better food than the last mexican restaurant that was in there. The last place moved out of town, and there food is still gross. I will support a new restaurant, as long as the food is decent, which I am not that hard to please. I hope they can make it there. It seems like that corner should be ideal, but people seem to have a hard time making it there. I think it could be hard to start a new business at this time of year as well with all that street construction. Some bus. are talking about closing during that construction time, and here one is trying to open.

Ok the comment about Spinners and the eggs, thats nasty. I have never liked spinners, one more reason why. I don't know how they stay in business. The All n one has pizza now thats really not bad. A little more than spinners price wise but decent pizza and they deliver.

I would support a Italian rest. I really wish it was a steak house. Its been years since this town has had a decent steak house. The places I won't eat ate in this town are spinners, the Italian 'deli' and McDonald's. None of those places are fit to eat at.

Yes but a steak house wouldn't work on the four corners.

What about the old restaurant on E. Main street that's sat empty for years? New Italian place should have tried that. Doesn't seem like a smart move to start a new business downtown during construction.

I will admit to being picky -- but we are trained that way, with all the choices in Janseville. WOuldn't it be great if someone were to poll the Evansville people to see what kind of restaurant we would like? Seems like one of the first steps in a successful business plan -- to find a need and fill it. Do we really have a need for this restaurant? No, so chances for success are slim.

I see the all n one is going to be selling subs soon. Its always nice to have choices.

I never went to the Mexican place because I need-a-rita with my Mexican Meals. I'm not sure Janesville holds the restaurant standard Evansville should mimic. And it seems like direct competition rather than complimentary services is the norm around here. I would welcome a little more variety personally. I'm just grateful China Moon isn't taking it's Crab Rangoons off the menu any time soon!
