Have you all had the opportunity to see your gas bill? I about fell over when I opened mine to the tune of $143.60. Now mind you I turn the thermostat down to 60 degrees from 7am-4pm 68 degrees from 4pm-9pm and 64 degrees from 9pm-7am. I can't even fathom how high the bill bill would have been at a constant 68 degrees.
Are they getting this shit from the Middle East?
How bad was your bill?

Gas bill of $143? Whoop! Want to trade? Mine was $343 -- 2000 sq ft. recently remodeled, new insulation.
Yeah living in old "historic distict" type houses suck when it comes to having an economical utility bill. But hey you have a pretty house. Or so you think.
Fuck no I don't want trade. I would call my contractor and have him check for a big hole in your head oops I mean roof. You can't live in an old house remodeled or not and complain about energy bills.
It's called looking before you leap.
ours was 445.00, but i love our old house, and just pray for spring. With little kids we tend to keep it at 68 27/7.
I'm the $343 bill and we also keep ours at 68 degrees 24-7.
I'd rather pay high heating bills and have a terrific location and terrific neighbors than live in one of these post-war slap em up, get em done quick, wafer board houses.
Yummmmmmm...wafer boards.
The person that has the 445 dollar bill. Your problem is simple you are paying for 3 extra non-existent hours a day. You are roughly paying for an extra 4 days a month that you really do not get to enjoy, it is like a twilight zone episode where you line in these 27 hour days.
On another note, I would like to ask Ms. Carvin the schools gas bill and see if the Cir. Director position is something she still wants filled.
Hey $343,
Not only is my house newer than your's it's bigger and nicer. My yard is bigger and my neighbors are better. If someone is landscaping the neighborhood is there. No one shovels because the guy with a snowblowewr takes care of it.Our kids hang out our wives hang out.
So take your old drafty high heating bill house in your old shitty neighborhood and shove it up your ass.
And you and your brand new neighbors will be moving up and out in the next five years. Bye, bye. We're lifers.
Either that or your wafer board house will be falling down in the next five years. Slap it up, get it done, move on to the next. But hey, at least your landscaping will still look good.
Wow people like to talk crap about other people's homes.
Here is an idea, be nice.
For those picking on people in new homes you are wrong because you take an old guard attitude that has been a huge problem in this city.
For those picking on the old guard, remember if they did not pave the way you newer folks in town would not be here.
We are all Evansville people and equally belong to a great community, whether you paid $100 or $500 to heat your home in this bitterly cold weather.
What you should really be complaining about is the taxes.
